The Untouchable Queen (Chapter 1)

Chapter 1: The Meeting 

Lily Hollywood was the strongest first year in the school. This world has magic. Battle magic. And with it, a lot of monsters. Large ugly crawling monsters of various colours. There were about 8 million magic users in the world. Her school was one of those who trained magicians. She had a weird phobia. A fear of touch. She hated anyone touching her. So far, no one had ever touched her since she joined the school. She quickly got a reputation as the Untouchable Queen. In her fights, she had managed to defeat 20 other first years who ganged up on her without even getting a single scratch on her body. Since she was extremely tall and abnormally strong, no one even approached her at school and she was always alone at all times. She had a bad past where she had been sold off to perverted men and women and they abused her badly. Due to that, she developed a fear of touch.  

 

Mark Ridgestone was an extremely cute and short first year who had joined in the middle of the year. He also had a disastrous past. He saw both his parents die in front of his eyes at a young age then his older brother get slashed up and diced in pieces trying to save him. He lived with his sister most of his life but his sister turned out to be a genius with magic and she became one of the elite soon enough and eventually ended up a martyr. He was destroyed from within but he still bared through it. Then they found out that his level of magic power was pretty high and he could be joined in a magic school. So he was given a special permit to join the school mid-year. His education was free as his sister was essentially a hero to all the magicians. 

 

She looked just like his sister. Mark saw her in the corridor. She had the same long black flowing hair and a blade in her hand and he thought it was his sister and flung himself on her and she turned at the exact same moment letting his face sink between her boobs and she tripped backwards falling with his tiny body on her and is head neatly sandwiched between her boobs.  

"Why did you leave me?", he mumbled. "They said you were dead. Those liars... Don't ever leave me again!" 

Lily seemed completely stunned and he started crying, still thinking it was his sister. She wasn’t scared. For the first time, she wasn’t scared when someone touched her. In fact, it felt nice. She tried to force him away lightly but he hugged her tightly. She slowly got up and looked around if anyone had seen them. The corridor was empty. She was sitting against a wall with him on her lap hugging her tightly. A minute later, he released her and seemed scared out of his wits when he realised it was someone else he had hugged.  

 "Oh, I am so sorry! I… I thought you were my sister. I just got too excited. And… she couldn’t be here anyway. She's not gonna be back…", he said hurriedly. His tears seemed to start coming again.  

"It's… okay. So your sister…", she said. 

"Dead." 

"I am sorry" 

"You don't have to be." 

He stood up. "I am Mark, a transfer first year.", he said after clearing his throat and wiping his tears with his hands. 

Lily got up but discovered he was actually so short that his head just reached the bottom of her boobs.  

"Lily Hollywood. I am a first year too.", she said. Then she changed her tone a little and said, "Not a word of this to anyone. And it would be better for you if you kept your distance from me." 

"But… I am really sorry, I didn’t mean to do that, I really mistook you for my sister.", he said apologetically.  

"Not because of that. It's because I am not a good person to be around. Just go now.", she replied forcefully.  

"You seem like a nice person though." 

"Whatever. Keep this incident to yourself." 

Immediately after the last sentence, she whispered something and disappeared.  

 

Mark was in the same class as Lily. Lily seemed to be somewhere at the back sitting all alone. In fact, no one was sitting anywhere remotely close to her. It was like they were avoiding her on purpose. Mark sat in the front bench with two smart looking guys paying more attention to the teacher's female parts than what she was actually teaching. It wasn’t like a regular school as they mostly taught magic based subjects. Most of the people had their own close gangs and he didn’t exactly make any friends. He only talked to one guy in the class who seemed slightly friendlier than the rest.  

Lily disappeared whenever class ended and was back when the class started. At lunchtime, she had disappeared immediately after the lunch bell had rung. The guy he had met previously showed him around the school with a couple of his friends and left him gaping at the canteen where they had mysteriously dissolved into the crowds. He had been told that the burgers of the canteen were the best food you could hope to get. Except there was such a huge line that you had have to either eat your lunch in the line or smash your way through to the front. He went and joined the line for one of the other stalls. Suddenly, the crowd at the burger stall all turned back and everyone suddenly moved aside. As if the stall keeper was expecting it. He pulled out 4 burgers from below his station and kept them on the top. The Untouchable Queen had come. She seemed to be really conscious of herself as she moved herself with grace. She was wearing glasses now but her hair was untied and loose and carelessly slung over her shoulder and the guys seemed to be stunned and in awe while the girls were either angry, jealous, scared or just really horny. She took the burgers and started walking away. The crowd slowly drew back into a line after she left. Suddenly a fireball shot towards the Queen. Mark seemed to go into a slow motion mode and could see the fireball approaching her. He ran and flung himself at her pushing her down so the fireball missed and hit the floor. She dropped all the burgers. She got up and instead of being angry like he had expected her to be, her face was flushed. She ran out the hall. He realised that even before, she had not just disappeared, she was just running really fast for anyone to notice. He got out of his slow motion mode. Everyone was staring at him.  

"He actually touched the Untouchable Queen!", he heard someone whisper. 

"And she didn’t kill him!" 

"He's so dumb, doesn’t he know who she is?" 

"Did he just do that!?" 

"Who's that kid?" 

"She should have gotten hit." 

He looked around and quietly picked up the burgers and ran out in search of her. He somehow found her on the terrace of the building leaning with her back against the wall on the other side of the entrance. He walked towards her. She looked at him. Her cheeks were red and she seemed angry at his sight.  

"You left your burgers.", he said cautiously.  

"You can have them", she said annoyed, not looking at him. Definitely not showing that she was surprised he actually found her.  

"But they are yours." 

"I don't care." 

"I am sorry. I upset you again, didn’t I?", he said apologetically. It was little too cute for Lily. Perhaps he was as innocent as he seemed.  

"No, it's fine. I was just a little shocked." 

He sat beside her and gave her the burgers. She looked at him puzzled and blushed. She looked away. She stuck her hand out and grabbed two.  

"You can have those. Better to eat them hot.", she said.  

They sat there eating the burgers quietly. Lily finished her burgers and got up.  

"Hey, I didn’t really make any friends today. In fact, I haven't really talked to anyone much. Can we be friends?", he asked. 

Her face seemed to turn red again and she immediately turned her back to him and started walking away slowly. Mark had just finished his first burger and he was full. He got up and walked up to her. She disappeared.  

 

Mark looked at the sky and thought of his sister.  

Hey sis! Looks like I didn’t make any friends today. I wasn’t so good at making friends anyway. I really wish you were here. , he thought.  

Suddenly, a beautiful female voice called out from behind him.  
"Hey, you are Mark, right? Do you wanna be my liege?", she asked.  

They had told him that the magicians needed skilled lieges to enhance their abilities. The magicians would sign a blood contract with their lieges and that would last until a thousand years were over or death of either one. Most of the actual magicians were female so their lieges were always male. 
"I am sorry, but I don't know who you are?", he said casually.  

The girl who had asked him seemed to be really angry. Three boys surrounding her also seemed to be angry.  

"You don't know who I am? You dare insult ME, the great Snow Princess!?", she shouted. Her hair suddenly changed colour to grey and she raised her hands and a grey staff materialised. "You're gonna find out now!" 

She charged at him and swung the staff seemingly aiming for his head when suddenly a flash of blue appeared from nowhere and there was a blue flame-like sword between Mark and the staff. Lily Hollywood stood upright, pushing slightly on the staff. The blue sword in her hand seemed to flicker and show streaks of red now and then. Her eyes were red. She grabbed the burger in Mark's hand and turned towards the other girl.  
"Seems like I left my burger.", she said cheekily, stuffing as much sarcasm as she could.  

"You think you can get away with picking a fight with a second year?", she shouted and drew her staff back and suddenly white light emanated in all directions from her. Lily put her hand around his waist and jumped a few feet back and left him there.  

"Hold the burger, looks like I have some business.", she said as she stood straight and a second sword appeared in her other hand which had more red than the sword in her right hand. 

Both the girls charged at each other. A huge wave of snow seemed to have formed and was shooting towards Lily and Lily raised her sword and blue flames from her sword burnt everything in the perimeter. She shot a wave of red fire. The three boys near the girl seemed to have been her lieges. They put up a shield and stopped the flames. 

The fight slowly got worse and Lily was fatigued and had a large cut on her shoulder while the other girl seemed to be less tired due to her lieges continuously healing her. In fact, her lieges seemed more tired than her. All of a sudden, Lily changed her stance and all the red in her flames disappeared. And then she disappeared. She started attacking all the four opponents simultaneously. Then the Snow Princess disappeared. There were flickers here and there indicating a fight in an alternate dimension of time. Then everything slowed down as the lieges set up a freezing spell. It froze everything in the perimeter and only their group would be able to move. Lily was frozen in mid-air with a stern expression on her face. She looked surprisingly calm even when she was at the verge of death. The pointed edge of the ice staff was a hair's length away from her chest. 

Then a huge burst emanated from Mark as he shouted out. A blue freezing field which neutralised the other field and a shield appeared in front of Lily as the Snow Princess struck it hard. Everyone was shocked at the sight. They looked at Mark like he was a monster. The Snow Princess then charged forward towards him. He closed his eyes and took a step back, he was never the kind to actually fight. He didn’t know how he had done that. She turned her staff into a large greatsword and swung it down on him when suddenly Lily appeared out of nowhere and took the cut. The blood from her cut kept gushing out nonstop. She fell on her knees as everyone stood in awe. Mark panicked. He suddenly was pushed back by a wild gust. Then the Snow Princess burned. Lily was standing on the ground surrounded by intimidating flames of orange and red. The kind you see at forest fires. Her eyes were bloodshot. The Snow Princess had fallen to the ground and so did her lieges. Then the Untouchable Queen fainted.
